Black Virgin of Montserrat

This stamp of the "Black Virgin of Montserrat" was issued by Spain on July 18, 1954.  Issued to celebrate the Marian Year of 1954. This was the same year that saw the Centenary of the Catholic Church officially proclaiming the dogma of the Immaculate Conception.

Issued by Luxembourg on April 13, 1963. This stamp, showing the 15th century Black Virgin in St. Jean's Church, Grund, was part of an 11-stamp set  honoring the Millennium of the city of Luxembourg.
